What Are PUBG Fonts?
PUBG Mobile has no font picker, so the "PUBG fonts" you see on other players are nicknames built out of Unicode characters that resemble stylised letters. The Brutalist alphabet (PŁΛ¥ΞЯ) borrows Greek lambda and Cyrillic ya for a cold, military feel; Bold Old English (𝕻𝖑𝖆𝖞𝖊𝖗) comes from the Mathematical Alphanumeric block; Black Squares (🅿🅻🅰) and Black Bubble (🅟🅛🅐) are enclosed alphanumerics; and the kanji 亗, メ, 彡 and 〆 are Chinese and Japanese characters chosen purely for how they look beside Latin letters. The ▄︻デ══━一 rifle is a row of block-element and box-drawing characters plus one katakana デ.
Since these are characters and not a font file, PUBG stores them exactly as typed, and whatever font the game and the phone have decides how they appear. The game bundles a font with wide coverage of CJK characters, box-drawing and mathematical letters, which is why those particular ranges became the PUBG standard while emoji and rarer scripts did not.
One caveat worth stating plainly: a screen reader or voice assistant reading a decorated name will either spell out technical character names or skip the name, and search inside the game only matches the exact characters. Treat the styled name as a visual badge and keep a plain spelling handy for friends.
Why Use PUBG Fonts?
Your PUBG name appears in the lobby, above teammates in the squad panel, in the kill feed and on the results screen, and a plain lowercase name gets lost among tags and clan prefixes. A tight, symbol-framed name is easier for your squad to spot in the heat of a fight, and it makes your clips and killcam moments recognisable when you post them.
There is also the matter of the Rename Card. PUBG Mobile only lets you change your nickname by consuming a Rename Card, which you earn from events, the Royale Pass and certain missions, or buy in the shop for UC. Because the card is single-use, players want to be sure the name fits within the limit and renders correctly before they spend it, which is what previewing it here is for.
Finally, many clans standardise on one look: a shared kanji such as 亗 on the left, a 彡 on the right, or the rifle frame for a sniper squad. Choosing from the same alphabet as your clan keeps the roster tidy in the clan tab. Where Can You Use PUBG Fonts?
PUBG players use these names in a handful of concrete places:
- PUBG Mobile nickname: Inventory → Rename Card → Use, then paste. The limit is 14 characters, counted per symbol, so ▄︻デ══━一 alone uses eight of them.
- Clan name and clan tag: set by the clan leader in the clan page; the name accepts kanji and brackets but stays short, and the tag shown before member names is best kept to a single symbol or two letters.
- Crew names and team names: tournament crews often use Black Squares or Bold Old English so the team reads as a unit on the scoreboard.
- BGMI (India): the Indian release uses the same character handling, and the ᶦᶰᵈ superscript tag exists precisely because it fits in that field.
- Discord servers: scrim and clan servers let you paste the same styled name into your nickname, and the 32-character limit there is roomier than the game's.
- YouTube and TikTok: montage captions and channel names use the in-game spelling so viewers can add you.
- Steam and PC PUBG: the PC game's name change is separate and stricter, so test there before assuming a mobile name transfers.
Anything that shows as a box in the lobby is a character the game font does not cover; swap that symbol and keep the rest.
How to Use the PUBG Font Generator
- Write the core of your nickname in the input, ideally six to eight letters, so there is room left inside the 14-character cap for a kanji or a bracket.

Budget the 14 characters
The rifle frame ▄︻デ══━一 is eight characters, 亗 Name 亗 adds four including spaces, and a Rename Card is wasted if the game truncates the paste. Try the wide-space Sniper styles only with very short names.
Stay inside the ranges the game draws
CJK ideographs, katakana, box-drawing blocks, enclosed alphanumerics and the mathematical bold and monospace letters all render in PUBG Mobile on almost every phone. Emoji like 💥 and 🔥 usually appear on iOS but can be blank on other players' Android devices, so keep them for your Discord name or clan description.
Do not stack combining marks
The game strips or mangles most combining characters, and those it keeps still count toward the limit. Underlined, struck or glitched names are risky spends; if you want a distorted look, a plain Brutalist name is safer than a glitch overlay.
Think about the clan tab
Clan names appear in a narrow column, so Black Squares and Black Bubble letters, which are all capitals and equal width, line up neatly there. Monospace with a single ☠ or ♔ works for a military-themed squad.
Keep the Rename Card until you are sure
